Each Memory Cafe offers a relaxed environment with refreshments available. Members enjoy a quiz, a raffle and great entertainment with music and dancing for those who choose to join in.
The cafes offer the opportunity for people living with dementia and their families to meet others in a similar situation, find out how and where to get help and maybe share experiences and coping strategies.
Knowing that others really understand makes a difference, and this can grow into a support network that exists outside the café. Each café provides a setting where people living with dementia feel welcomed and valued.

BDS supported me as a carer for my mum. we’ve made lots of new friends with a shared experience.
Coming to the Memory Cafe makes me happy as they are all lovely people here.
The routine has helped my wife. She enjoys going out rather than sitting in watching TV, it has stimulated her.
We have met lots of lovely people here, staff, helpers and other carers. We have received lots of support and information.
Attending the Memory Cafe has made me realise I’m not the only one who struggles with this condition.
The staff and volunteers are very welcoming!
